On every trip I look for fabrics I can later turn into guitar straps for you. And that’s exactly what I did in Vietnam. I have to admit, Kasia is always the one who finds the best spots. Both the places worth seeing and the ones where you can come across really special materials. And this time was no different.

This trip was a mix of family time and constantly keeping an eye out for something interesting. On one side you’ve got mountains, raw, green and a bit wild. On the other side beaches where everything slows down and you start breathing a little differently. In between there are cities, temples, small streets and places where time just moves at its own pace. We found ourselves surrounded by rice fields stretching to the horizon, riding scooters through all that nature, often right in the middle of local life. Sure, we visited a few bigger places too, but we’re always drawn more to the edges. Away from the noise.

One of the strongest moments of this trip for me was visiting a place where silk is actually made. Not a shop. A real place where everything starts with silkworms. I got to see the whole process, from cocoons to the final thread and fabric. It completely changes how you look at materials.

I also learned the only real way to tell if silk is truly 100 percent natural. You can’t figure it out just by touch. If someone tells you they can, they’re just guessing. The only way to really check it is by burning it. When you burn pure silk, you get a very specific smell, like burnt hair. You can’t miss it. That comes from proteins. If the silk is mixed with synthetic fibers, you’ll immediately smell burnt plastic. There’s no way to confuse those two.

There’s one more thing. Ash. Just rub the burnt piece between your fingers. With real silk you’ll notice tiny shiny particles in the ash. With synthetic blends it looks completely different.

Mixing silk with other fibers is actually very common and makes a lot of sense. Those extra fibers are what give the material strength. And that’s exactly the kind of silk I used for two straps from the World Series Vietnam Custom Shop. Pure silk would simply be too delicate for this kind of use.

I hope you enjoy the photos and the fabrics I brought back from this trip. The World Series Vietnam straps are something really different and fresh. I truly recommend them.

If you’d like to see the straps from this series, you can find them in the Custom Shop.

Guitar Straps Inspired by Travels.

Sri Lanka is a land where tropical beaches, lush tea plantations, and ancient temples form a mosaic of breathtaking landscapes. Colombo buzzes with life, filled with colorful markets, the aroma of spices, and vibrant street food stalls. Roads leading inland wind through the green hills of Nuwara Eliya, where tea grows on steep slopes and the air is infused with the scent of fresh leaves. The island is home to countless temples, from sacred Buddhist shrines hidden in the mountains to majestic coastal complexes. Each telling a story of faith, history, and tradition. The coastline enchants with golden sands and an ocean that lures surfers and swimmers every day. In the south, you can encounter slow-moving sea turtles, while in the national parks, elephants and leopards roam freely in their natural habitat. Sri Lanka is also about its people, smiling, hospitable, and proud of their culture. It’s a place where every day brings new discoveries, and the memories stay with you for a lifetime.

Our journey to Sri Lanka became more than just a family adventure. It turned into a well of inspiration for Mr. Strapsky. This is how the Guitar Straps Inspired by Travels collection was born. The island’s landscapes are a living palette: the golden tones of the beaches, the lush green shades of tea plantations, and the deep reds and oranges of temple murals. Textures of silk chiffon fabrics echo the flowing robes seen in sacred shrines. Earthy browns and warm sands recall the rustic charm of village life. These colors and materials find their way into our designs, making each strap not only a functional accessory but also a piece of wearable art infused with the spirit of travel.

This trip took me through three unique places, each with its own character. Langkawi is a paradise with sandy beaches and lush greenery, where the sea meets the mountains, and local legends blend with everyday life. Walking through the streets, you can come across numerous galleries and stalls where local artists showcase their work. Walking along the boulevards and through hidden courtyards, I found inspiration in the small details that often go unnoticed, a wrought iron balcony, the texture of cobblestones, or the delicate brushstrokes of a street artist. These subtle elements shaped new ideas for my guitar straps, from embossed patterns to color combinations and fabric layering. Each Paris inspired strap is designed to tell a story, blending the city’s romance and artistry with the comfort and durability that every musician needs.

Guitar Straps Inspired by Barcelona.

My first morning in Barcelona was filled with the aroma of fresh churros and coffee drifting from tiny cafés along the narrow streets of El Born. Walking toward the sea, I passed the colorful stalls of La Boqueria, overflowing with fruit, olives, and aromatic cheeses. It’s a true paradise for photographers. Gaudí’s mosaic-covered facades, lively narrow streets, and the golden glow of sunset creating endless frames. The cuisine delighted with tapas, fresh seafood, and wine from nearby Catalonia. While after dark the city transformed into a vibrant hub of nightlife. Barcelona is also a city of museums and artists, from Picasso and Miró to street performers along La Rambla. Every day here felt like a new canvas, where colors, flavors, and sounds blended into a unique masterpiece.

The mosaic patterns of Gaudí’s architecture influenced intricate fabric designs, while the warm Mediterranean tones and sunsets shaped rich, bold color palettes. I create a few guitar straps inspired by Barcelona. The dynamic streets, bustling markets, and artistic flair, textures, stitching patterns, and layering choices that make each strap unique. These Barcelona inspired straps aim to reflect the creativity, rhythm, and character of the city. Blending aesthetic beauty with the comfort and durability that musicians expect from every Mr.Strapsky creation.

Guitar straps inspired by Oman.

Arriving in Muscat, I was instantly struck by the scent of spices at the local market like cinnamon, cardamom, dried limes. A few hours later, while crossing the desert, I passed caravans of camels that would sometimes lazily block the road. In the mountain villages, time seemed to slow down. The call to prayer blended with the laughter of children playing in narrow alleyways. Along the ocean, waves crashed against rocky shores, while fishermen pulled fresh fish from their nets. Oman turned out to be a place where every day told a different story. From desert adventures to evenings with mint-scented tea.

This trip inspired a unique collection of guitar straps inspired by Oman, capturing the essence of its desert landscapes, vibrant markets, and coastal beauty. The warm, earthy tones of the sands and mountains influenced the color palettes, while the intricate patterns of local textiles and carpets shaped fabric designs and textures. During my trip, I purchased several pieces of traditional Omani fabrics and materials, which I later incorporated into my straps, giving each one a tangible connection to the culture and spirit of the country. These Oman-inspired straps combine exotic textures, rich colors, and durable craftsmanship, allowing musicians to carry a piece of the Sultanate’s beauty with them in every performance.

While a journey south leads to the Negev Desert and the crystal-clear waters of the Red Sea in Eilat. The Dead Sea offers the unique experience of floating effortlessly, surrounded by striking rock formations and desert landscapes.

Israel is also about its food, fresh vegetables, aromatic herbs, and dishes. Like hummus and tahini, whose rich flavors come alive at local bazaars.
